Rates for Bear Creek Editing

As a Bear Creek Editing client, you will negotiate the cost and payment details of your project directly with your editor. Rates are fair and flexible depending on the type of editing you desire. A 50% deposit is due at the start of the project and the balance is due upon completion. Please note that there is a minimum charge of $30 for any editing services order. I accept PayPal, certified checks, money orders, and money transfer via Western Union.

You can request a free initial assessment and rate estimate by contacting Bear Creek Editing. The rate and final cost of editing your document will vary depending upon the following considerations:

  1. The type of edit requested
    • Do you simply want a final proofread of formatted text?
    • Will you need some level of copyediting, content editing or developmental editing?
    • Will you need any copy writing?
  2. The subject expertise required
    • Is the work fiction or non-fiction?
    • Is it a technical treatise or a business report?
    • Is it an essay or a textbook?
  3. The proximity of the deadline: the closer the deadline, the more it will cost
    • Deadlines within 24 hours of final agreement will incur an additional charge of 35% added to the agreed upon price.
    • Deadlines within 48 hours of final agreement will incur an additional charge of 25% added to the agreed upon price.
    • Deadlines within 72 hours of final agreement will incur an additional charge of 15% added to the agreed upon price.
  4. The quality of the writing
    • Are you a first time writer or a professional writer?
    • Are you a high school student or a college graduate?
    • Is U.S. English your native tongue or is this a translation?
  5. The length and complexity of the project
    • Larger documents may cost less per hour.
    • What will the format of the final document be: original format, book format, scholarly journal format?
    • How complex is the document: references, tables, diagrams, indices?
    • Do you have special instructions?

I know that a good presentation is the key to success and you only have one chance to make a first impression. You can't afford not to have your documents edited! Bear Creek Editing's services are prompt, personal, courteous and confidential.
